Social Services League of La Jolla League House Picnic

I spent the day yesterday at The League House in La Jolla. Yesterday marked the 10th Annual League House Picnic. Every year the La Jolla Rotary celebrates a theme at the annual picnic. This year the theme was “Surfin’ USA”. The League House courtyard was transformed into a surfing paradise complete with surfboards, wetsuits, tikis, lifeguard tower, beach balls, fishing nets, seashells and each table was adorned with a beautiful beach shack with palm trees! It was a sight to behold.

The residents of The League House had a blast singing and dancing to surf tunes provided by DJ Ron Jones. There was a surfing trivia contest with prizes for each correct answer–prizes were provided by local businesses as well as La Jolla Rotarians. There was a fun skit featuring a lifeguard, shark and swimmer…I will tell you that the swimmer was saved!

The picnic was a raging success as measured by the laughter and smiles of the League House residents. More than 25 La Jolla Rotarians were there in support of the event.

San Diego Homecare, the premier homecare service company in San Diego, was proud to support the event.
